I use voice over to have phone read me my Kindle books in the Kindle App. It’s gone haywire recently mispronouncing every other word making it impossible to follow along in the story. I’ve tried rebooting phone and switching voices but no help. Is this a known glitch? How do I fix it?

This is also happening to me. It just started 8.23.2023. This really sucks because I literally use this feature everyday. I use Ava’s voice and have over 100 pronunciations saved for certain names and phrases she mispronounces but now I can barely stand it. The weird thing is it doesn’t happen on my iPad so I quickly turned off all auto updates so I can at least to continue to listen to my books being read by voice everyday. What happened on 8.23.2023??
Thank you. Now I know it’s not just me. Like you I listen to my books everyday and this is driving me crazy. I guess it was some sort of update. I just watched a utube video on how to make pronunciation substitutions which I didn’t know you could do but there’s no way I can make all the necessary changes because there’s toooo many. Yes something happened on 8/23/23 and I like it NONE! I hope they have a fix for this in the next update. It’s a life changer not to be able to listen to my books. I’m totally bummed.
Mine is still messed up. Did you have to do anything to get an update? I’m running Kindle version 6.84.0.100
Did yours just start working correctly or did you have to do something. Mine is still mispronouncing the smallest easiest of words. It’s unusable.

I tested it out and putting the pronunciations here doesn’t work. I hope they fix this soon.
This is fixed now. There was an update to the app.
