I'm unable to fix MacBook Air M2 black screen display

I bought MacBook Air M2, 1 month back. Day before yesterday while working suddenly the screen went full black. But it's not dead since it was fully charged. I can hear the start up sound when I restart using the power button. I don't understand how to trust Apple anymore. Really disappointed.

Hi there,

Please try this

Try to start up from macOS Recovery

If your Mac seems to be turned on but the screen remains blank, follow the appropriate steps depending on whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon. If you're not sure, you can try it both ways.

Apple silicon

  1. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds, until you see the startup options window, which includes a gear icon labeled Options. Select Options, then click Continue.
  2. If you never see the startup options window, release the power button, then repeat step 1.

If you started up from macOS Recovery, you should see a utilities window that includes Disk Utility. Select Disk Utility, then click Continue and follow the steps in this article:

Use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk

If Disk Utility found no errors, reinstall macOS.

If Disk Utility found errors and repaired them, restart your Mac. If the issue returns after restarting, reinstall macOS.

If you can't start up from macOS Recovery, your Mac might not be turning on at all:

Update on my issue, it’s fixed. After taking it to a service centre they said it needs a screen replacement which they said would cost $900 AUD. They said it wasn’t covered under warranty due to a hairline crack in the chin of the display (which had nothing to do with it) anywaysI got it back and used it for a while with an external display since as i described before, just the backlight was on. But I accidentally let it go flat and when I charged it back up it turned on but the bottom half of the screen was flickering. Took it into the Apple Store, they said it was just cosmetic damage and they would fix it as it’s covered under warranty. If not they’d give me a call. Got it back a week later all fixed for free. I don’t know if this helps but it’s what worked for me. On the invoice, it said they also replace the lid angle sensor. So that’s that.
