Is the work computer managed... ie with a Profile bound to some Enterprise, JAMF, MDM, active directory list?

You do not say, but this may well limit some options to you. Talk to your IT department if in doubt.

A - Firstly and perhaps the Auto Correct caused this, but Apple Computers run on macOS.

A - That lasted version is now Ventura 13.5.1 as of August 17 this year

A - Suspect the Work computer is Enrolled in a Mobile Digital Management Service ( MDM ) and they may have disabled that feature

A- In which case you would need to speak to the company IT Department or to the MDM Service

A - While at it, your may mentioned the version update is now 13.5.1
