Are there solutions for trackpad being diabled after Monterey 12.6.8 install?

MacBook Pro (mid 2015) trackpad mouse has been disabled after Monterey 12.6.8 installation. What is the solution? Is Apple working on updating Monterey to fix this bug?

trackpad select is disabled on my sons MacBook air computer track pad "stopped" working MacBook air. The pointer moves around the screen, pinch to zoom in and out works and I've been able to get the screens to switch by randomly using keyboard keys somehow but I can not select anything with the pointer and touch pad. Single taps double triple taps make no selection of item the pointer is on. His finger print ID key works when I ask him to turn it on. I feel like this is a settings issue possibly or there is a work around to get it to act this way. I am an IPhone user but don't know much about the MacBook Air. Any help or ways to fix this. Again the touch pad is working perfectly moving the pointer and zooming in and out it will not select when you tap. I've tried tapping many different ways and speeds.

Issues with trackpad after upgrading to Mac OS Sonom I upgraded a 2018 MacBook Pro (intel) to Sonoma today and it’s messed up my trackpad (which worked flawlessly before). The issue is that where the mouse appears on the screen is not where the click actually happens. Sometimes the pointer is off by half an inch, sometimes it’s off by a few inches. I’ve restarted the device multiple times but the issue keeps happening. It’s effectively rendered my laptop unusable.

Hi,

If you have wired or wireless mouse, the trackpad work again by connecting a mouse and going into System Preferences > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Mouse and Trackpad and unchecking the option "Ignore trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present".
