Cannot move icons from one page to another on iPad.

Cannot move icons from one page to another on iPad. This problem started yesterday. It started after I added a widget to my Home Screen. I deleted the recently added widget, but I still have the problem of being unable to move app icons from one page to another on iPad. The problem was first noted here in the forum in 2018. The fix provided in that string of discussion, which was to attempt the moves while in portrait position, does not work. Using iPad Pro 4th generation with iPadOS 16.6.

Hi Ljbonn,

Thank you for reaching out and posting in Apple Support Communities.

We'll be happy to see how we can help with arranging the icons on your iPad Pro. The iPadOS version you mention is the current one available right now. But have you tried to restart your iPad Pro? If not, that's always a good step to try when things don't seem to be working as they should be.

How to restart an iPad without a Home button
1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.

These steps are found in Restart your iPad - Apple Support.

If restarting the iPad Pro doesn't help, let us know what happens when you press and hold an app. Does it wiggle, do you get the options to appear to edit?

Take care!
