Recently I have been using the Apple Music app on my phone and saw that there was animated cover art and I really liked that. I have started using on my computer now and was wondering if there is a way to get that animated cover art on my MacBook. Is there a way to turn it on or something?

I do not see animated album covers on my Macbook as well, and I do not have the reduce motion setting turned on..
Any supported album should show the animated cover in the album page. For example, the Marvin Gaye What's Going On album page (https://music.apple.com/us/album/whats-going-on/1538081586) features animated cover art on my Mac. Note that the animated cover art does not show on the full screen or MiniPlayer based on my experience.
Hi mattm221, animated cover art should be available in the Music app on macOS. Make sure that you do not have "Reduce motion" enabled in System Settings. Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion. Hope this helps!
I'm not crazy about the animated cover art and have always wondered how to turn it off (like I can on my iPad and iPhone). Thanks for showing this setting so I could disable it! 😀👍🏻
How did you fixed it? I can't see the animated album art on my mac even though Reduced Motion is Off, Increased Contrast is also turned off.. i can only see the animated album art when i use a browser to log into apple music but not the app!
I went to check the settings and that setting was off. Where on the app would it show the animated cover art, I do not see it in full screen player or MiniPlayer
