selecting an image from the pictures folder on a Mac after taken a picture with my iPhone 12

Hi everyone,

I just took a picture with my iPhone's camera and now on my MacBook Pro, on the Kijiji website in Safari, I need to upload that image to create a Kijiji listing. But, I can't locate the image file on disk.

Why does it have to be so difficult? Or, what am I overlooking here?

Thanks,

-Ron

Sometimes it is hard to guess, that we need to scroll a pane in a window. It is not obvious, when we do not expect to have to scroll. To avoid such a confusion I have changed the System Settings to have the scrollbars always displayed. This way I will know for sure, if there are hidden items behind the window borders. See: Change Appearance settings on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

To change these settings,

  • choose Apple menu   > System Settings, then click Appearance  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Now set "Show scroll bars" to "Always".

And you will know at a glance, if a window needs scrolling to show all items.

How are you syncing the photos from your iPhone to your Mac, Ron?

If you are syncing them with iCloud Photos, you will find the new photo, when you open the Photos.app on your Mac and look in the Recents album for it. Photos is storing the photos inside its Photos Library and you are not seeing them in the Finder.

But you can see them in the Media Browser, when you are using a web browser to upload photos to some social media site and the site opens a file chooser dialog. Look in the sidebar of this dialog for the section "Media" and click "Photos" to view the items in your Photos Library. You can also enter the filename of the photo into the search field to find it quickly.
