Whatsapp and Amazon Music apps are being blocked by screentime

Hi

Ive set up Screentime on my son's iPhone X, and it's been working fine till now - I can block the apps I don't want him to use and allow the ones I do. However, I've added both Whatsapp and Amazon Music in the last 24hrs, and they appear on his phone for him to use if I turn screentime off, but when I turn it back on again they disappear. I've been through all the settings in Screentime, and can't work out how to allow these apps without turning off screentime altogether, which obviously I don't want to do! Can anyone help?

Thanks, I've done all this, and Screentime works perfectly for the other apps on his phone. I agreed he could have WhatsApp and Amazon Music, as well as another App (Subway Surfer game app). However while Subway Surfer is still visible to him, WhatsApp and Amazon Music won't show up on his home screen unless I turn off Screentime completely, which obviously I don't want to do

You should pay attention to two commonly overlooked aspects...

  1. Configuring device restrictions for your child's device.
  2. Setting up a screen time passcode on your own device for your child.

Set Screen Time Restrictions for your Child in your Family using Parental Control.

Please see the pic below which is self-explanatory.

Set Screen Time Passcode for your child's device through your device.

This GIF below will depict how to set Screen Time Restrictions for your Child's Device

  1. Add your Child as a Family Member
  2. Then Start Screen Time on your Device.
  3. Now watch the GIF below

Go to Settings and tap Screen Time. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and enter your Screen Time passcode. Tap Content Restrictions, then tap Web Content. Choose Unrestricted Access, Limit Adult Websites, or Allowed Websites Only.

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod ...

Set up parental controls with Family Sharing on iPhone

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing > Screen Time.
  2. Tap the name of a child in your family group, tap Turn On Screen Time, then follow the onscreen instructions.
