Failing to install macOS Ventura after factory reset

I’m trying to install macOS Ventura after a factory reset, but the dialogue box keeps saying either “Failed to download required installer asset. (Info.plist)” or “The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.)” or “Downloading the installer build manifest failed.”

Please help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

I am going to guess that you did the download via Wi-Fi, which is often too slow for these very large files. The result is that the file is often corrupted and cannot be loaded. If so, you can put the downloaded file into the Trash and empty it and either (1) do the new download via a wired Ethernet connection, (2) if that is not possible, you may have to do multiple Wi-Fi downloads until you get a clean one that will install.
