Trying to sign up to apple TV on an LG CX TV, but it always fails saying "connection not available".

I am trying to subscribe to apple TV on my Windows PC (I hav no apple devices) account all setup.

I installed itunes on my android phone because it wouldn't complete registration without sigining into itunes.

I get to the "Authentication required" screen on the TV and click continue and get a screen saying

"Connection not available

There were errors completing your action.Wait a moment then try again"

I've have tried a few times over the past 4 hours and always the same

The TV has appeared in my devices list, in my account details. I tried removing it and starting again, but end up with the same message
