Update an mail app password to an Exchange email account

And how did you do that?

I thought that I had found the solution by entering my new password through the 'Manage passwords using keychains,' but it didn't work. Nothing has worked.

I’ve changed my password on my iPhone and my iPad. When I try to change it on my apple computer I get the the message that it has been changed but when I try to sign in I get told the new password won’t work. What am I doing wrong.

Is this seriously the fix? This is a major problem. Is it still not fixed?

Thank you ramee209. That worked for me. It is kind of lame that this is the process, but it does work. Adding it back brought back my email history for 30 days. Not great but better than being locked out.

I was having this same trouble with my Mac and my iPad UNTIL… I updated the password setting for mail on my iPhone, then voilá…everything else was updated!

The passwords have been MOVED.

Open up Settings, navigate to the "Passwords" item (just above Internet Accounts).

Open this (you will need your master password), find the account you're looking for, select "Edit" and then you can change the password.

It's not really obvious, as most of us consider things like e-mail passwords to be "separate" from website passwords, etc.
