My son, 9 years old, autistic, has used the wrong email as his apple-id. How to reset the ipad?

His apple-id is ****1@gmail.com. This email doesn't belong to me, but I guess its owner has used the "find my iPhone" addressing my son's iPad.

I want to reset the iPad, but I don't know how.

I bought the iPad a long time ago directly from Apple (in Naperville IL USA), you will find it linked to me apple-Id ****2@gmail.com. I'm not able to provide its serial number as I can't reach its setup.

Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Carlos

It sounds like this iPad is activation locked. If you're the original owner of the iPad and can provided valid proof of purchase information, you can start an Activation Lock support request.
