Apple Music played last

my HomePod played a song just now and I’m trying to find out who it was, but it seems to be impossible to see what has been played previously. I’m looking at ‘Playing next’ on iPad and phone, but it will only show the next song, not the songs that have already been played. Any help?

Where does HomePod Mini music come from? I cannot get my head round this... All my music at home comes from my Music app, with music downloaded from CDs only. I never, ever stream music. I am the only person who uses the HomePod for music. If I touch the top of my HomePod Mini, music plays. Mostly the same album, which is in my Music app, by Brandi Carlile. Nobody else in my home setup has that album, just me. Yet my music app (see image) shows that album is not playing - and the last-cued album (which I played on my most recent car journey via CarPlay) is ready to play. So my question is, where the heck is the Brandi Carlile music coming from, if not my iPhone? (No other device of mine is switched on, my iPhone is the only possible source in the house.)

HomePod and "Recently Played" I'm a happy Apple Music customer, and have a few HomePod minis that I enjoy. All are using iOS 16.1. When I play music from my iPhone to a HomePod mini, it doesn't appear that the "recently played" playlist ever gets updated with those tracks. When I play those songs from my iPhone in my car or to my Beats headphones, it does. I'd like music I play on my HomePod to be tracked to the "recently played" playlist. Is there a way to enable that?

Have you tried it with Shazam or Google Assistant these apps can hear which track is playing.

This is for a track that was played, not a song that is currently playing. Siri will tell you what is currently playing

I don’t think it works when streaming from HomePods.

That’s correct, it works if streaming on another device but not on the HomePod for some reason.
