Sidecar won’t work wired at all

It seems that there’s no options to use sidecar wired. My iPad Pro 3rd gen and 2016 MacBook Pro are both fully updated and I’m able to use sidecar wirelessly but it quickly becomes laggy and eventually disconnects. Ive been trying to do it wired but it seems there no options. When I put it on airplane mode and turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and plug it in it never works. It seems the iPad only shows as a display because it was recently on with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth because when I click it it times out. I already tried another wire and I tried resetting trust settings. It honestly doesn’t even seem like sidecar with the wire is an option I haven’t seen anyone make a video on it I think everyone’s been doing it wirelessly and Dont even realize it because they have their wire plugged in…
