My MacBook M2 does not recognize my MULTI card reader. I'm connecting it with a USB to USB-C adapter to my computer.

On my old MacBook Air I was able to insert the MULTI Card Reader to the USB and the computer recognized the device and open it so I could download the pictures from my SD card to the Photos.

My experience with readers is that is not unusual. For whatever reason, I've had very poor performance at several levels with everything associated with cards. If you search this support community you'll find numerous examples of the same.

My solution was to got to a pair of 250 GB portable SSDs for data transfer. Cards are for use in our cameras only.
