Why have Apple.com/bill Cork taken money from my credit card, and who are they?

If you see a charge like that on your credit card, it may be a bill from Apple for things that you have purchased from them (Apple Store, iTunes Store, App Store) or through them (in-app purchases, subscriptions).

"Apple.com" is Apple's Internet domain. "bill" means the charge is a bill.

I believe that Cork, Ireland is an Apple regional facility that might handle a lot of stuff for Europe. In the U.S., a credit card charge from Apple would typically refer to Cupertino, CA (Apple's worldwide headquarters).

As for what the charges are for – see Kurtosis12's answer on how to check that for yourself.

I normally get e-mail from Apple whenever they charge me for say, an iCloud+ or Apple Music subscription, or an iTunes Store or App Store purchase. With App Store and iTunes Store purchases, I've noticed that Apple is in the habit of trying to see if they can combine several purchases into a single charge (which means that the bill for the first purchase may be delayed while they're waiting to see if there will be another purchase they can add to it).

But I believe that whether you get these e-mails may be, to some extent a preference – and you might have your preferences set to tell Apple not to send the e-mails that would have explained the charges.
