Kindle app on iPad keeps freezing

When I open app, I cannot do a thing: access library, access a suggested book, anything. I’m using latest Kindle for iPad version (6.82.0.100) on constantly (almost daily!) updating iPad iOS 16.6. I am having no problems at all on iPhone Kindle app. I have hard-started, removed-and-replaced app: same result. As soon as Kindle app opens, frozen> I touch every little icon, get zero response.


I’m reading 2022 discussions that indicate that this is a Kindle/Amazon slow-maybe-never resolve issue a/o an Apple slow-maybe-never resolve issue: discussion ends with no solution, resolution. Is the situation that dire?

EXACT Same thing is happening to me on iOS 16.6 on my iPad. Works on my phone, but not on the iPad. I tried everything- reset network setting, Wi-Fi on and off, reinstalling, restarting, logging out, etc.
