Hide badge alerts for certain imessages!!!

HI!

I have searched high and low, and alas, I have not been able to figure out how to combine the functions of the focus setting, and filter by contact lists on/off feature in imessage in a way that makes the "badge" alerts for imessage reflective of what I want to see in those focused settings. This feels like a HUGE gap in the system and honestly completely makes the functionality of the focus and contact lists feature pointless if you can't use it to the full scope.

Here's my situation and ideal need:

My phone contacts include family, friends and work related clients. I currently have focus settings for work, personal and sleep and they are still not enough to obtain the desired result. The only one that really works the way it is intended is the sleep setting and that's simply because I have ALL notifications of badges turned off. At present, when my personal setting turns on, my "work list" contacts filter turns on in imessage and all those messages disappear when I go into the imessage app. This is EPIC.. there's a major draw back though. The badge alerts for clients in my "work list" are still there. This defeats the whole point. The system allows me to hide the list but I can't hide the badges?

In a perfect world, when I'm in my personal focus setting, the filter contact list kicks those contacts off the visible display in imessage and along with it automatically mutes each of those conversations (without me having to manually do and undo it) so that it no longer has those specific badges but all my other badges still come in. I can't figure out if this is a thing.. So I'm stuck... because while I could individually mute each conversation, this isn't possible on a large scale.

I do NOT want a solution that involves swiping left on each individual imessage of the contacts in my "work list" and "silencing" the alerts. This is too limiting and too cumbersome as I would have to unmute those alerts when my work mode automatically kicks on the next day. During work mode I want those notifications and badges from that list. The reality is muting and unmuting them individually is NOT possible when you have dozens and dozens of clients.

This is exceptionally challenging for me and really wish there was an option to automatically mute badges for clients when the filter by list feature is on in imessage... please tell me I just haven't found it and it exists.. PLEASE!?
