Emergency Bypass Not Working

Hello,

Ever since the iOS 16 update the Emergency Bypass on my iPhone 11 is not working. Today I missed an emergency call from a family member. I have tried everything listed in previous community postings to fix this issue, including all of Apples suggestions. This problem happens with the Emergency Bypass I have set up for different contacts for both ring and text tone. I have a family member with a serious health issue so this matter is extremely important to me. Please advise.

Thank you.

Jessica

I believe Apple tech-support his solve this for me! I had this very frustrating issue as well as any special ringtone I had saved for that particular contact would just randomly go back to the standard tones.

I have I get my emails through my phone as well through Exchange. It turns out my contacts were saved in Exchange instead of iCloud. The tech-support gentleman had me put those contacts in iCloud, I reset the emergency bypass as well as the special ringtones and for the last 10 days there’s been no problem!

Go to your contacts and in the upper left corner you will see Lists. Select that and check your iCloud and see if the contact you’re having an issue with is not listed there. I had to delete it from Exchange and then add it in iCloud.

Good luck!!

SOLVED & FIXED! this may be a temporary fix to the bug, and you might need to do it more than once.

Here’s how: settings>notifications>notification style

First choose Phone. Toggle allow notifications On/Off/On

Return to Notifycation Style screen

choose Messages

Toggle On/Off/On all options 👉🏼especially Critical Alerts.

Make sure it’s green.

Have your ER contact send a text to test the feature and be sure you don’t have their messages open while doing so, and volume up.
