Gift cards are the same as cash so your only recourse would be through legal means if you can identify the scammer.

Scammed into sending gift cards via apple app I was sent a text that an unautorized purchase was made from my apple account and I was to contact them, which showed to be apple support. They had me to send them gift cards for $100 each several times in order to get the amount refunded.
