I have a few movies that I redeemed via other methods rather than purchasing directly through ITunes. I now would like to upgrade the movies to 4K. Is this possible? I have heard that you have to permanently delete and repurchase. I would be willing to do that for a few titles. Can someone help me or advise me on how to accomplish this?

I would not know, get support from Apple directly -> Get Support or call Apple in your region see -> Contact Apple for support and service

These movies were redeemed via code from Movies Anywhere. Is it possible to delete a movie from iTunes so I can repurchase?
