To remove a device from your Apple Account :
You could scroll to: "Remove a device from the list" in Apple Support's article (link below)
Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in - Apple Support
Else, if the iPad's owner has their own Apple ID, and you use "Family Sharing" the article (link below) may help:
