Mic works on video but not calls

Since your iPhone 8 has multiple microphones, it's likely that the one your device uses for recording a video is different than the one used while placing a call. If the microphone used to place calls isn't working, then your callers will not be able to hear you. One potential workaround for this would be to try using speaker phone while on a call, to see if that may utilize a different microphone and let you make calls for the time being. Have an iPad 5th generation and mic stopped working . It will record videos and audio just fine but can’t be heard when using video services.
