Why did my Keyboard Shortcuts stop working ?

I'm a user of Keyboard Shortcuts. Unfortunately, I've recently experienced a change in how it performs.

Previously, I created the following keyboard shortcut: commandD = Date.

For many years that keyboard shortcut worked in ALL my apps. My problem now is that this particular keyboard shortcut does not work in the Contacts or the Mail app. (but oddly, it still DOES work in Pages)

Did I inadvertently change something?

How do I get that keyboard shortcut to, once agin, work in ALL my applications?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Keyboard shortcuts in apps may vary depending on the language and keyboard layout you’re using on your Mac. If the shortcuts below don’t work as you expect, look in the app menus in the menu bar to see the correct shortcuts. You can also use the Keyboard Viewer to see your current keyboard layout, known as an input source

In Keyboard Viewer see if the CMD+d keys are the only ones highlighted when pressing them.

Yes, confirmed ... within the Contacts app, when I press command+d those keys are the only ones highlighted in Keyboard Viewer.

I'm still seeking a solution. How do I create a keyboard shortcut for entering the date?

Specifically, I wish command+d = current date. I'd like it to work in all apps, but I realize that may not be possible. If I need to choose specific apps, those apps would be Contacts and Mail.

If possible, please try creating this Shortcut on your Mac running Mac OS 13.4.1 (c).

If you're successful in creating the Shortcut, please reply in this thread with step by step instructions so I can replicate on my end. I've tried numerous Apple Instsructions and YouTube videos, but alas, I' still stumped.

Many Thanks

I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut within Apple's Mac OS via a.) System Settings or b.) the Shortcuts app. [Using a 3rd party app would be a last resort.]

So,........ can anyone please provide me a step-by-step process in which Command+D= date.

It's an extremely simple shortcut,.......It must be doable,....... but I just can't seem to get it done.

Thanks
