Naming Quick Notes

Some of my quick notes are named, but some just say “New Note”. How do I rename the latter?

How to rename a Note:

Open the Note you want to rename.

Tap in the Title field and the | 'cursor' appears.

You can now rename / change the Title.

How do you rename a note in iPad? I have a similar issue. In the Notes app of my iPad Pro, if the note was sent from somewhere else in its entirety, such as to save an instruction, recipe, email, etc., it seems to want to automatically name it "New Note". I used to be able to edit note titles, if not by direct edit in the Titles list, then by changing the first words at the top of the note body. I can't find a way to do that anymore... contrary to some online forums advice, there is no Edit button. Perhaps some switch in Settings has changed; but regardless, simple Title editing should be easy. Why this has to be like pulling teeth, I dunno. It would seem that by now there would've been created a simple way to just Edit/retype the Name of any Note right in a highlighted choice in the Titles list. There's probably a way, but I can't find it. That said, for one note I managed to click the "Tables" button, type a name in the first box at the top of the note, and the Title changed to that. But the next note I tried that with didn't work that way. Like I imply, this is much more of a time wasting PITA than it should be; I never have a need to use the Tables option, but surely title renameing is not its intent. Apple, please reengineer the Notes app to allow an easy highlight and edit of note titles. You have to wonder if software designers use only their own educated approach to how a feature is used, or do they ever test it on Joe Bloe off the street to see if owners other than computerphiles actually find it user-friendly.

Changing title of shared notes Hi everyone, I've seen other questions about changing the title of notes. I thought I'd share an anomoly. One thing we have noticed is that if you share a note with someone else, and you then want to change the title of the note in your notes list, you won't be able to do it. For instance, if you have a note titled 'Holiday' which you have shared, and you change the first line of the note to 'Holidays 2022', then if you go into the note, you will see the revised first line, but the title of the note in your notes list will remain as Holiday. The only way to resolve this is to unshare the note, change the title, make sure the revised title shows in your notes list, then reshare the note again. It seems to be a quirk when sharing notes. Hope this helps.

I can't find the title field on my note. This was a screen shot that I saved in my Quick Notes. Does that make a difference?
