All Inbox in mail has disappeared

Stupidly I seem to have deleted the "All Inbox" slot in mail (iMac- Ventura)

I have tried clicking on the right arrow in favourites but the "In Box" is the first line but it is greyed out so doesn't activate? Any ideas

Check that it isn't showing up as moving in the Activity Viewer window in the Window menu of Mail.

When you delete from the Inbox, it typically sends the mail to the Trash mailbox you have designated in the preferences, unless you asked it to delete immediately.

If you used POP account preferences these messages would also recoverable through a Time Machine backup prior to the deletion, or a clone backup.

If you did not backup your data, data recovery tools such as those on this tip may help:

You would be searching for text files of the suffix mbox.

If you are using IMAP or Exchange, the host of your email software may have its own backups it made of your inbox.

That isn't the answer to the question that being asked. The question was where is the "All inboxes" its easy with a slip of the finger on the track pad to move all inboxes out of the favourites column. It's added back by selecting the Plus icon to the right of the favourites heading on the top of side bar. From there scroll down to add any favourites including the missing All inboxes.. Old toad does me one better by including a graphic.

Thanks, Old Toad, that's very impressive but it doesn't work for me. When I get to the Add Favorites insertion box, the All Inboxes label at top of the list is greyed out and unresponsive. As are VIPs, Drafts, Sent, Archive.

I need to fix that.

But I do have All Mailboxes shown, and opening that brings up a long list of all emails, with little > indicators and an In or Sent arrow alongside. This means I can navigate to read and use each email of the several In boxes contents list; but that isn't how it should be.

Using Sonoma OS v 14.4.1
