Missing iMovie 10.3.6 Projects

My default iMovie library had many projects contained in it. It was HUGE. I "split" all projects out of the original library into individual libraries that contained only that project. The process worked fine, but when I open any of the trimmed down libraries by clicking directly on that library, I see no projects. If I "search" the projects, entering the first letter of the project that I *know* it contains...the project pops in as normal in the project browser screen and I can open it. If I then close iMovie and repeat...I have to go through the search process again. How can I tell these libraries to show its project(s)?

Every time that you open a different library you won’t see any projects in it until you select the library’s name in the drop down menu at the top of the project browser screen.
