iPhone 14 Max Pro eSIM failure

My husband and both have iPhone 14 Max Pros (US version without physical SIM tray). We live in Korea so we use an LGU+ eSIM as our primary and a T-Mobile eSIM as our secondary.

A few months ago I started randomly getting “SIM Failure” errors and my phone would drop one or both of my eSIMS. My iPhone will say No SIM or Invalid SIM on the top left of my control panel where the carrier information should be. When I go into cellular information under my settings my phone, network, boogy man, whatever has turned off my eSIMs. Sometimes when I turn them back on they pop right back on, sometimes not. There are varying levels of what kind of carrier data is listed when I’m getting the SIM error. Sometimes they’re off, sometimes gone, sometimes there but no carrier details, it’s not consistent.

I've tried restarting it (so many times), deleted my VPN app, talked to my local provider (LGU+), switched from 5G to LTE, confirmed the IMEI numbers match the phone/carrier, spoken with apple support on the phone, done network resets, data resets, completed a factory reset, went to the Apple Store who completed multiple diagnostics (which were all green) and even completely deleted my operating system and then reinstalled it. After that it worked for about 3 days and now it almost constantly has the No SIM error. It will work for an hour or so a day.

My husbands phone is now doing it also. Same carrier and similar settings.

No one we’ve talked to has any idea what the issue is. Does anyone know how to fix our phones? Thank you!

Remove your SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. ... Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn't loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model iPhone, iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it might not fit properly.

To be able to use any SIM across the globe you must have "No SIM Restriction" against Network Provider Lock. Please refer to the pic below.

The recurring disconnection of your cellular service can indeed be attributed to the VPN as the primary culprit. To address this issue thoroughly, it is imperative that you reach out to both the VPN service provider and the cellular service provider for assistance and resolution.

When it comes to troubleshooting the connectivity problems, the VPN (Virtual Private Network) becomes the focal point of investigation. VPNs establish secure and encrypted connections between your device and the internet, providing privacy and protection. However, in certain cases, VPNs can interfere with cellular connections and lead to disruptions or disconnections.

To effectively tackle this situation, it is crucial to initiate contact with both the VPN service provider and the cellular service provider. By involving both parties, you can cover all potential factors and ensure a comprehensive examination of the issue.

Start by contacting the VPN service provider, reaching out to their customer support or technical team. Explain the specific problems you are encountering with your cellular connectivity while using their VPN service. Provide them with detailed information, such as the VPN client or app you are using, the frequency and duration of disconnections, and any error messages you may have encountered. This information will assist the VPN service provider in diagnosing and resolving any conflicts or configuration issues related to their service.

Simultaneously, get in touch with your cellular service provider. Communicate the cellular disconnection issues you are facing while using a VPN. Share pertinent details like your location, the frequency of disconnections, and any other relevant information that may help them investigate the matter. The cellular service provider can provide insights into potential network-related issues or restrictions that may be impacting VPN connectivity. They may also be able to guide you through troubleshooting steps specific to their network or conduct diagnostics to identify and rectify any conflicts with VPN connections.

By involving both the VPN service provider and the cellular service provider, you increase the likelihood of identifying and resolving the problem effectively. Their combined expertise and support will enable a comprehensive approach to address the disconnections, ensuring that your VPN and cellular connectivity work seamlessly together without interruptions.

I had the same issues iPhone 14 Pro tried reset reset new sign in diff sims etc could see physical sims but not take info off and refused to even offer adding an eSIM. Took into an Apple repair station test run shows eSIM module fail but sim module passed however two are linked and that’s why won’t take info off the sim. Repair estimate not cheap as need full dismantle to access
