Mac Studio VS iMac for X-Plane Flight Simulator.

My current computer is:

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)

Processor 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9

Memory 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Graphics AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB***

It is approaching the 3 year mark which is when I usually upgrade. Most of my use on the computer is pretty generic, email, MS Office etc.

I have been life long Apple user and would never consider changing to a PC. The one app that I use on the computer that is taxing is X-Plane

Flight Simulator. Although their website shows that I am well within the requirements needed, when I add scenery, advanced weather and more complex airplane components my frame rates really decrease as well as the clouds and the ground start to look a bit fuzzy.

I would consider purchasing the Mac Studio Max or Ultra if it meant I would have a better simulator experience.

iMac 27″, macOS 13.4

I too have been a Mac user since '96 and I have been flying X-Plane since v3.5. However, I did eventually buy a Windoze machine strictly for simming. Mainly because there were add-ons that were PC only, as well as better GPU driver support for gaming/simming. I got one through Jetline Systems, great bunch of guys super into flight simming, and the back up their PC builds with very good customer service. Another good PC company is XForcePC. I still use my Mac for my day-to-day stuff!
