I watch 6 had been locking automatically but suddenly stopped locking when removed from my wrist and kept aside. When i open the passcode on the app that is frozen, I cant do anything on that. Please suggest a solution

The problem is that you have apparently locked (not allowed) account or passcode changes under screen time—> content& privacy restrictions
I have just realized that when I was going through the same issue
I did that 2-3 times. I even tried to reset as a new watch…still the same
Did you also check settings like Wrist Detect and maybe also Unlock with iPhone? These setttings should be accessible from the Watch app on your iPhone which is often easier than the small watch display with big fingers.

The only other likely problem would be a failed wrist sensor (broken hardware), but that is confused by your passcode comment above.
I suggest you begin by restarting your Apple Watch. It’s a computer, reboot is often an easy fix.
