Cannot update..when I click install now it says not connected to the internet..But I can freely browse the internet using this iPhone 7 and was able to submit this question.

The phone cannot connect to the update server over the Internet for some reason.
VPN, anti-virus, an old incomplete installation, an old beta profile, a MDM profile will all prevent a connection to the update server over the Internet.
Work through this Apple Support document. The answer is very likely in there somewhere.
