I have an iPhone X as my daily driver

256GB varient

However since like iOS 16.1, it takes FOREVER to open a web page including this one

So I borrowed another iPhone X (64GB) just to check if the issue is in every unit or if mine is flawed, that phone has no issues regarding it even though it was more filled (60 GB compared to mine which was only filled 70GB)

Any ideas why so?

It is really frustrating and I don't want to spend my money on a new phone just for this

Hey there Areeb_Mushir,

Thanks for posting back and confirming that webpages are slow loading no matter which network you're utilizing.

Curious to know a few things as they could impact your experience:

  • Are you using Safari as your web browser when this happens?
  • Do you have other web browsers on your iPhone that experience the same lag?
  • Are you using a VPN?

It looks like you're running iOS 16.1. There's since been a release for iOS 16.6. You could try updating to the most recent iOS version to overwrite any software anomalies that could be present in your current version, iOS 16.1.

Feel free to follow the steps below to update your iPhone wirelessly:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Let us know here if the update changes anything or if we can help any further, friend.

Take it easy out there.

Hi Areeb_Mushir,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Are you noticing that the websites are opening slowly on both cellular data and Wi-Fi? This is important to help determine if it's specific to the network. Our recommendation is to follow these steps:

Check your network conditions
Many apps require an internet connection for their content and other functionality. If the network that you're connected to is congested — for example, at an event with many people using the same network — apps might take a while to open or display their content. Your device can also seem slow as it repeatedly reconnects to new cell towers when you're in a moving vehicle.

Even if your device indicates a strong signal, you might need to wait, try again in a different location, or use available Wi-Fi. If you continue to experience issues with cellular data speed, availability, or performance in multiple locations, contact your carrier.

This information is helpful in your case and is outlined in this article: If your iPhone or iPad is running slow - Apple Support

We look forward to hearing back from you with an update.

Kind regards.

I use iOS 16.6 on my iPhone without any VPN

I don't have have any browser except safari and the Google app, both have this issue, Google Chrome and Microsoft edge also have the same issue.

But after updating to iOS 16.3 back when it got released, my apps in the background also doesn't stay at all, opening discord with (only) YouTube in background crashes it.
