Cut and Paste using range tool still not working in Final Cut Pro X

When I select a range on the main timeline with the range tool then hit COMMAND-C to copy that range and COMMAND-V to paste at the beginning of the timeline, I get what was previously in the clipboard, rather than the new range I want. Cut/Paste works fine in other programs, in fact, if I cut/paste some text in Pages, then try the range select/copy/paste operation in Final Cut Pro X, nothing happens. I'm guessing this is because the copy did not happen and the previously copied text is still in the clipboard and FCPX doesn't know what to do with it.

Same trouble here, Futura 13.3.1, Final Cut all updated - range tool copy paste totally screwed, sometimes pastes the previous buffer content from earlier copy operation, sometimes pastes a range close to what I selecte but NOT EXACTLY, with some footage ADDED on usually. - TOTALLY UNUSABLE!

I was looking for the discrepancy. You said the paste would sometimes give the wrong content or duration.

What are other applications are you running at the same time?
