There are a few reasons why you might not be able to swipe your iPhone Home Screen to the left to get to other pages. Here are some of the most common causes:

  • Your iPhone is in landscape mode. In landscape mode, the Home Screen is only one page long, so you can't swipe left or right to get to other pages. To switch back to portrait mode, rotate your iPhone so that it's in the vertical position.
  • You have a screen protector installed. If your screen protector is too thick, it can interfere with the touch screen and prevent you from swiping left or right. Try removing the screen protector and see if that fixes the problem.
  • Your iPhone is dirty or damaged. If your iPhone screen is dirty or damaged, it can also interfere with the touch screen and prevent you from swiping left or right. Clean your iPhone screen with a soft, damp cloth and see if that fixes the problem.
  • Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger
  • There may not be a second page on your device

If your screen is black or frozen

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
  • If your phone doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your phone.
