iMessage is opening the compose new message window instead of opening to the list of texts. Every time I click on I Message icon. Very aggravating. Yes I have restarted device. Yes I have forced the app closed. Nothing is working. Also iPhone is fully updated. iPhone 14 Pro is my device. I have to cancel it before I can see my text messages.

Im having exact same issue. Just started. No matter what I do, it still opens to compose a new message. This needs fixed asap. iPhone 14 Pro Max with updated iOS.
Same issue here. Just noticed it this evening about 10pm PT, Thu, June 29. Ugh! So annoying. iPhone 14 Pro Max updated to iOS 16.5.1.
I am having the exact same issue! It happened after the last update. This issue needs to be fixed promptly!!! It is an annoying waste of time!
