Icons replaced with blank square outlines

Has anyone seen this? While using Safari, where there should be indicative icons, there are frequently square box outlines (like a checkbox in a Pages document). Notice the bottom row of the first attached pic. There's no way of knowing what will happen when you click on any of those squares. It should look like the second picture (from Firefox browser). Notice the editing tools icons. Can anyone help?

Is this a solution? Easy? You’re joking, it doesn’t fix anything permanently

Hey bepilk,

We'd recommend trying the steps in this article as they can help resolve issues with how webpages load in Safari: If Safari doesn't open a page or work as expected on your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue is limited to just that specific website, you may want to check with the website developers or test to see if the same issue occurs when using another browser.

Thanks!
