Workout goes for about 10 seconds and then pauses. I’ve turned off auto-pause, end workout reminder, and on the current watch firmware.
I’ve got tattoos on both arms and have read that could be the reason. ANY way to by pass this? Used a Garmin for years and never had this issue - first week with the Apple Watch and can’t get it to work.

I had the same problem and now it seems to be fixed in that it no longer pauses after 10 or 11 seconds.
1st - I disabled the 'Auto-Pause' that is found in the 'Workout' tab.
2nd - I scrolled up to 'Passcode' and disabled 'Wrist Detection'.
Finally the 'Workout' timer no longer pauses after 10 or so seconds. What a PAIN, but this solution seems to work for me.

I have the same problem with the tattoos on both hands. I've found the 'Wrist Detection' and turned it off. I will try to train today and update my answer after that. 🙏
