Apple Watch not working at all after swimming
Hi,
I’ve had my Apple Watch (series 5 I believe) just about two years and rely on it for so much. I have taken it swimming to track exercise the last two summers with no issue.
Yesterday I took it in the pool and when I tried to unlock the water lock
to switch from it just being on while I cleaned the pool, to putting it in exercise mode, the touch screen wasn’t working. Finally I got it to work. swam and played around in the pool with my son. When I was done I turned the water lock off. I then put it back on and did it again to be sure all water was expelled. It seemed to be working okay at this point.
Later, I put it on the charger. When I removed it before bed, I did not pay attention and assumed it was charged as it has been on for a while. As I was going to bed, I went to turn on do not disturb and the touch screen was not working again. I tried over and over again and hard reset it twice. The touch screen did not work.
I woke up this morning to find it dead. I went to charge it only to have it get very very hot and still not turn on. I left it off until cool and had the same thing happen again. Took it off again, waited for it to cool and now have tried one more time and nothing is happening at all. No sign of charging. No charging image on the screen. Just totally dead.
is there anything I can do? I know it’s not a new watch but I was hoping to get more than two years out of it. The watch I had before (a 3 I think), I gifted to a family member after a year (when I purchased the 5) and it’s still going strong. 😭😭😭😭
thanks in advance for any advice.
