My wrist temperature recorded just fine from purchase, December, through the end of March…and then just stopped recording wrist temperature, and no other data has been recorded on “Wrist Temperature”, since March 28
Am I wearing the watch wrong? Is my watch not functioning properly?
The wrist temperature features are all turned on in the Watch App.
You are just wrong. From the Health application (About Wrist Temperature):
"Your body temperature naturally fluctuates, and can vary from night to night due to variables like diet, exercise, and alcohol consumption, or physiological factors like menstrual cycles and illness. Wrist temperature can also be impacted by external factors like your sleep environment. Values within 1.8*F (1*C) of your baseline are common."
The right answer is that Wrist Temperature is only measured while Sleep Focus is turned on. There is nothing mentioned in regard to it being a "Menstrual Cycle Tracker" specifically, it simply mentions that a Menstrual Cycle may be a factor in its variance (wrist temperature variance).
What I said was true. However I agree it was not the full answer. I didn't say it was only a cycle tracker, but when it is tracking, you need sleep focus on.
Important thing is you resolved it.

Correct, wrist temperature is a menstrual cycle tracker only during sleep monitoring. I assumed that as you said it used to work before that you would have been aware.
