Got my in app purchase but wasn’t charged by the App Store

A couple days ago I purchased some things through in app purchasing. Usually when I buy something it is instant and I can see it was taken from my cashapp. But now it isn't showing that it charged my card and I don't have any balance in apple, no gift cards either. Why is it doing this all of a sudden? Am I going to be charged in the future? I don't even have anymore money left on my cashapp so what's going to happen? When I went to buy my things it said I was using apple pay. Any help?

Exact same thing just happened to me and I resolved the issue. What happened was a subscription charge on my debit card failed due to insufficient funds. This makes Apple flag your card and unlink it with your Apple account. To fix it I went to Settings ->Apple ID-> Payment & Shipping. My payment method was highlighted in red which meant I had to relink it. I relinked it and about an hour later my card had been charged.

Hope this helps because I was searching for a solution for hours lol.

You need to add funds.

Pending purchases indicate a purchase that was unable to be charged successfully to your valid payment method on file or Apple Account balance, as such you are responsible for that purchase, and must allow it to successfully complete before anything else can be done.

If you can't make purchases or update apps, including free apps, you may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free.

See -> Add a payment method to your Apple ID

Add a payment method to your Apple ID – Apple Support (UK)

  • If you want to change your card, add first the new card, then remove the old one.
  • or if you use your Apple ID balance, set your Apple ID balance as your default payment.

FYI: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

Add money to your Apple Account balance -> Add money to your Apple Account balance - Apple Support

If you have set your Apple Account balance as your default payment method, your default payment method will be used first by Apple when you need to make a payment.

Some purchases might require you to have a credit card on file, even if you use your Apple Account balance to make the purchase.

If you update your payment method or add funds to your Apple Account balance, It would take about 1 to 3 business days in order to process.

If you're still unable to update your payment method, Contact Apple Support.

If you still need help, get support from Apple directly -> Get Support or call Apple in your region see -> Contact Apple for support and service or check -> here for more support and assistance.

It’s ridiculous that this is going on. I’m having the same issues. Well I was until I stopped purchasing things with my debit card at all. I signed out of iCloud and I removed all of my cards now I will go buy an Apple Card and add money to the Apple Cash card suddenly it takes the payments out immediately. Isn’t that strange Also they were giving me big bills not for individualized purchases. I don’t know if I spent that much money because it looks like it came out and then it went away so you would have to actually write it down in a notebook or something every purchase you made to know if you really made all of those purchases because it doesn’t seem to add up in my head as to what all I purchased.

It’s just the Apple Pay Later, go into your iCloud Settings, go to Media and Purchases, from there go to view account and it will take you to safari or your internet of choice, scroll down to see the total (it will be in red when it’s not paid) click it and pay for your things, I highly recommend that you go into your settings and turn Apple Pay Later off.

I have been in the same situation and I spent countless time sitting on the phone with Apple so they could dispute the charge, but if you turn Apple play later off, it will no longer charge your card unless you have a balance capable of paying, typically if you are trying to buy something that is over $1 it will check and see if you have at least $5

Edit: You get 6 weeks from the time that the charge was attempted and if the money doesn’t get paid back, you will need to contact Apple to recover your account and your bank to get a new card.

I’m sure by now you’ve all found out; you’re going to pay.

Sometimes it takes the banks time to respond, for some reason, and the App Store wants you to have a smooth experience. You’ll get your purchase, it’s not Pay Later unless you choose Pay Later.

It’s not a bug nor a freebie. You’re responsible for it when the invoice hits, which… it will… DUN, DUN, DUN!!!

So I bought something with in app purchases with enough money to buy it but I wasn’t charged immediately so I bought another thing thinking nothing bad would happen but now apple won’t accept my card that now has enough money to pay for those things I can’t get any subscriptions or download apps I’m afraid my account is garbage because now I can’t download a app if I get a job that requires downloading their app to be paid I don’t know what to do and I’m scared.

I’m having the same issue. It shows i purchased a membership on an app called BandLab on Debit card history but it isn’t showing in my purchase history or receipts. I contacted both Apple and the app BandLab itself. Even with photogenic screenshots showing clearly that I paid..there still giving me the run around as if i didn’t pay. It’s extremely frustrating and annoying paying for things and you’re not provided the service. Even with legitimate complaint

i do quite a few purchases through Apple account/services and generally it works fine. But now this is the 2nd time this has happened. The company has not received any payment from apple, the first time i was too lazy to investigate and just let it go (-$10) now i made another payment and the party has not received it from apple. Where is the money? I dont have it, the seller did not receive it & not reflected in the apple funds either. So now im down $17 nobody knows where that money is. I know it’s not a big amount but now im afraid to use Apple services for any transactions.

Is this how you make money? Scams?

I’m having the same issue and I also pay with cashapp I play a specific game to coinmaster I read an article on here well not on here but online and it said that it could be the merchant that is doing it. If I find out it is, I’m not going to buy from them anymore because I think that I have paid for this and it looks at first like it came out of my account, but then it disappears i’m not going for this. It’s not right because then I get a bill for it later and if I don’t pay it, I can’t update my phone. I can’t download apps I can’t do anything. It’s ridiculous and it makes me wonder. Did I really spend that much money? You don’t really know because they send it to you in a big bill unless you sit there and write down every transaction you have done it might be a scam honestly. Apple says that it could be the bank. I don’t think it’s the bank because I didn’t have issues with it before. Apple also says that it could be your wireless connection. I have perfect wireless connection and even if I had a bad connection at one point I don’t have it all the time and here lately it is happening all the time every time I buy something this happens at this point I am done buying things because I don’t want to keep getting giant bills when I think I’ve paid something.

Got my in app purchase but wasn’t charged by the App Store
