Apple TV app - shows flickering on Samsung TV

so The Apple TV app was working fine on my samsung tv, then today suddenly it starts flickering when I play shows. It doesn’t flicker when I’m on the home page for Apple TV app, and the previews play fine - it’s just when I actually click on a show it starts strobing. I have already reinstalled the app, restarted it, checked for software updates for both the tv and app and still nothing (and I absolutely made sure the tv settings aren’t doing anything that should give this flickering) worked absolutely fine until today. I see a few other people previously had this issue on this website, and all the help they got was so go to Apple support… really hoping someone might actually have a solution. Thanks. And again - just to clarify, this is the app - I don’t have an Apple TV box or anything like that.
