How to clean the system data in MacBook Pro?

Since I’m using iCloud for all my data, didn’t want to buy a large HDD. But now nearly 80% of my laptop hdd is consumed by system data. There is no cleanup method or a system tool. How can I get this resolved? There should be a proper solution to the problem.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

It's drastic, but one way is to make sure you have a backup, reset to factory condition, and then restore from the backup. That would basically purge everything, and backups don't have that system data, which are probably a bunch of accumulated temporary files like caches.

Typically MacOS will clean it up as needed. As long as there's available storage, MacOS may not consider it urgent to expend resources on cleaning it up to make it available for other data.
