Why are changes made on Google calendar not reflecting on my Mac calendar after updating to macOS 13.4?

my mac calendar has stopped syncing with google calendar. If I make changes on Google Cal, the changes are displayed on apple calendar. the other way around it does not work anymore. I have already tried deactivating the Google account via internet accounts on the Mac, but nothing has changed.

I have already deactivated the Mac calendars on Google and reinstalled them, but that brought no change either.

Hi JayGee71,

could you solve this problem in the meantime? I am having the same problem since recently:

  • Goole Calendar syncs towards Apple Calendar
  • But not vice versa: events added in the Apple Calendar app in MacOS get lost or are only occasionally synced towards the Google Calendar.
  • No problem on the iPhone though, there all syncs work fine.
  • Uninstalling Google account and re-installing did not help either. Upgrade to newer MacOS did not help as well.

The worst is that events added to Apple Calendar are first shown. But after closing and re-opening the app, they are gone. I already missed job appointments before spotting this problem. Only workaround is to add events directly into Google Calendar in the Browser.

OS: MacOS 14.5 (Sonoma)

Did you, or anyone else, find a solution to this problem? Thanks so much!
