Touch ID problem ?

I have a difficult time with Touch ID. My configuration a Mac Mini M2 with an Apple Magic keyboard with touch ID en Ventura 13.4 sometimes stops with recognising the touch ID hold way work. I have to restart the Mac completely to get it working again ? Surely not very satisfying .

I also removed the administered Touch-ID and restarted the machine and scanned a finger of mine again. Sur it did work then but never the whole time.

Do I do something wrong Doris the software not OK. What to do that touch-ID works continually for years to come . Frankly it makes me somewhat nervous behind my own computer.

Hopefully there is an answer for this.

Just trying to make it clear when the problem - the disappearance of the Touch-ID - appeared. After one whole day without problem and using the Apple Magic keyboard with Touch-ID with the wire connected to the Mac mini M2, without a problem I started a new day without the wire connection, via Bluetooth. First it went smooth but with the machine locked for some time the Touch-ID again did not respond to get the Mac out of its locked state. After typing the password the Touch-ID did not work also. To get it back it was necessary to restart the machine ...


Any idea how to fix this problem ?

In questi giorni ho contattato il servizio tecnico di Apple e dopo alcune prove (abbastanza inutili) mi hanno detto che la tastiera va portata in assistenza, questo vuol dire non poter lavorare per il tempo necessario alla sostituzione. Essendo una tastiera nuova (l'ho acquistata settimana scorsa) questo è secondo me una cosa abbastanza grave, visto che a quello che leggo non siamo gli unici ad avere questo problema dovrebbero immediatamente spedire una tastiera in sostituzione (anche se non so se risolverebbe il problema).


In recent days I contacted Apple's technical service and after some (rather useless) tests they told me that the keyboard must be taken to assistance, this means not being able to work for the time necessary for replacement. Being a new keyboard (I bought it last week) this is in my opinion a pretty serious thing, since from what I read we are not the only ones having this problem they should immediately send a replacement keyboard (although I don't know if it would solve the problem).

I realise my Touch-ID problem is somewhat more common. I tested my gear and when I connect the Apple Magic keyboard via its wire (USB-c) to the Mac Mini M2 I have no problems. Even after locking machine. To unlock works after a few hours of locking with Touch-ID without a problem.

But things change when I connect the Apple keyboard wireless via Bluetooth. When starting anew everything works including the Touch-ID but ..... when locking the machine I cannot unlock my machine with Touch-ID after some time (1 hour or so). When I type the password everything works on my Apple keyboard but not the Touch-ID. To use that again I have to restart my machine. This might hint that there is a hiccup somewhere somehow in the Bluetooth system.

Are there any Apple hightech people looking to this community or could I post it somewhere else to get a response from the knowledgeable Apple engineers.
