Basically the title. I like to keep my dock on the left of the screen but I just got a new desk at work with the monitor pinned to the left side.
Now my dock shows up on the extended display. No bueno. How do I keep my dock pinned to the left of the main display when there's an extended display on the left?

Under System Settings -> Displays -> Arrange (button), there should be a white bar on one of the monitors to represent the menu bar.
The "Arrange" display with the white bar is the primary monitor, and the monitor that will get the Dock.
You can click-and-drag the white bar to the "Arrange" monitor where you want the dock to reside.

I have my system setup with "Displays have separate Spaces" in
System Settings -> Desktop & Dock -> Displays have separate Spaces [X]
You have to logout and login again for this setting to take effect, or reboot.
If you have a unified display, then the monitor in the Displays -> Arrange furthest to the left will be the left edge.
If you are going to have a single Space for all your monitors, then you have to arrange to have your MacBook Pro in the Arrange setup on the left.
PS. I have a similar setup. I have a 2019 DELL 32" 4K monitor attached to my Mac. But my setup is
No luck. My MBP screen has the white menu bar in the Arrange screen, yet the monitor still has the dock. I also double checked that my monitor is set to extended display, and the MacBook to main display.

****, yeah having the monitor on top is probably the way to go. I thought there might've been an option in Settings. When I uncheck 'Displays have separate spaces' it makes one of the displays go black whenever an app is full screen.
