If your touchbar has been flickering for the past year— it does not follow that is the source of your issue...

but only now Kernel panics(?)

I would try running the user Diagnostic and see if it kicks out an error code:

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

Learn what to do if your computer restarts or shuts down unexpectedly, or you get a message that your computer restarted or shut down because of a problem.

Kernel Panics are predominately caused by hardware faults or faulty third-party kernel extensions.

Hello,

dfrd stands for something like dynamic feed row daemon.

The dfrd service that is crashing is in fact the Touch Bar daemon.

About a week ago I was doing a heavy CAD render and put my MacBook on my bed accidentally when I walk back in the room the Touch Bar was strobing white and the fans coming wild. I quick moved it to a table and dumped reading for all of the almost 20 internal thermometers. 98.2C was the hottest with the CPU being all above 90C but below my machines hard throttle max of 100C.

later I restarted my Mac and the flashings on the Touch Bar was swapped with a pole thing green chroma issue that starts from the fingerprint reader and Phils about 90% of the Touch Bar in about three increasingSteps.

When I later completed my teardown and diagnostics I was very sad to see that the controller for the touchpad had overheated and is now dead.

The computer worked fine for a week but today it’s just crushing repeated. I’m going to boots and a single user mode of commanders and try and remove that service manually for now.

Good luck on your side.
