Iphone saying number not associated with iPhone

I have recently changed provider and ported my number from EE to o2.

But i'm now getting a daily countdown notification that my number is not associated with the phone.

My number hasn't changed so i get that its seeing the number on the new sim but the old number has been ported. How do i get my iPhone to recognise this please?

I've done the on/off, uncheck/check iPhone messages and FaceTime, remove sim and even delete number and read to id but None of these is working and the countdown is continuing.

Though your number remains the same but since your Carrier has changed Apple needs to verify the same from your Carrier.

If you're receiving an error message stating that your phone number is not associated with your Apple ID after changing your SIM card, there could be a few possible reasons for this issue:

  1. When you insert a new SIM card into your iPhone, Apple may attempt to verify your phone number by sending a verification code to that number. If the new SIM card hasn't been activated or registered properly with your mobile carrier, Apple may not be able to verify the number.
  2. If you use iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID, they may still be associated with your old phone number. When you insert a new SIM card, the system may still recognize your old number until you update your Apple ID settings. To activate iMessage and FaceTime using your Phone number
    1. First, check to know whether you have an SMS plan enabled at least for One SMS*** with your carrier. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) the agency that issued the SIM to you
    2. If your iPhone is used with a carrier not found in the wireless carrier articles, make sure you can send and receive international SMS. (One SMS*** Only) If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...
    3. *** You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps

  1. Make sure your new SIM card is properly activated and registered with your mobile carrier. Contact your carrier if you are experiencing any issues.--> Set up cellular service on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  2. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone, tap on your Apple ID at the top, and then go to "Name, Phone Numbers, Email." Verify that your new phone number is listed correctly under the "Phone" section. If it isn't, tap on "Edit" and update it accordingly.
  3. Restarting your iPhone can sometimes help refresh the system and resolve temporary glitches. Hold down the power button and slide to power off, then turn it back on after a few seconds.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  4. Open the Settings app, tap on your Apple ID at the top, scroll down, and tap on "Sign Out." After signing out, sign back in with your Apple ID and password. This can help re-establish the connection between your Apple ID and your phone number. If your Apple ID is Greyed out...Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Account Changes > [Allow], Please follow the pic below.

Remember to take a backup either over iTunes or iCloud of your iPhone before attempting any troubleshooting steps to ensure your data is safe.

I didn’t see the reply here, so didn’t have these steps to try. But, once I knew I had confirmation the number had transferred I tried following the red text instructions to remove the number in the FaceTime settings. I then clicked the new sim number. This started trying to add the number, then switched to the number I had transferred and accepted the change. This also fixed the ‘my number’ option in the phone settings. Not 100% on the steps, you may need restart.
