Apple Pencil shows connected to iPad Pro and is 100% charged. It randomly quits working.
If your Apple Pencil randomly stops working even when it’s fully charged and shows as connected, here are some troubleshooting steps to consider:
1. Restart Your iPad: This can often resolve minor technical issues. Simply press and hold the power button, then slide to power off. Once your iPad is off, press and hold the power button again until the Apple logo appears.
2. Re-pair the Apple Pencil: Unpair your Apple Pencil by going to Settings > Bluetooth and tapping the ‘i’ next to your Apple Pencil under ‘My Devices’, then tap ‘Forget this Device’. Restart your iPad, then reconnect your Apple Pencil by plugging it into the Lightning connector on your iPad.
3. Check for Software Updates: Make sure your iPad Pro is running the latest version of iPadOS. You can check this by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
4. Reset All Settings: If none of the above works, try resetting all settings on your iPad. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete any data, but it will reset system settings, so you’ll need to enter them again.
If you’re still experiencing issues after trying these steps, you may need to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for further assistance. There could be a hardware issue with either the iPad or the Apple Pencil.
