my computer is stuck on the Mac Os software update & I can not find the utility disk to repair

What "utility disk" ? Macs have not had utility or setup disks in many many years.

If you mean "Disk Utility" that is an application you access by booting into Safe mode or Recovery.


You can restart the Mac by holding down the power button until it shuts down and then turn it on again and see if it gets past the update.

Otherwise, you can hold down the option + r keys during boot up to start up in Internet Recovery and restore the Mac.
