Switching number to new iphone

If I buy an iPhone 14 pro max in the Apple Store. Can I transfer my number from my iPhone 12 with my carrier visible, to the new iPhone 14 pro max?

Yes, if you are in the US or many other countries it should transfer automatically. If it doesn’t contact your carrier.
